Bar on the Hill
An icon of the Newcastle music scene, Bar on the Hill is the centre for entertainment and gigs on campus. By day, the Bar on the Hill Cafe serves up delicious and cheap options for breakfast and lunch, and into the afternoon the bar opens and the fun begins.
With trivia on Tuesdays, plus awesome party nights, Bar on the Hill is the place to relax and have fun on campus. The bar is known as one of Newcastle’s great live music venues, built in the eighties and boasting past gigs from Tool, Eskimo Joe, Art vs. Science, Something for Kate and The Rubens to name a few, catching a concert at Bar on the Hill is a must do for anyone visiting Newy!
Did you know that you can also hire Bar on the Hill for events? The awesome new renovations make this the ideal place for large gatherings!
The Bar on the Hill is open from 11.30am - every week day during Semester and closes late on Wednesdays and at 7pm on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. Don't forget your Wednesday Night starts here with cheap drinks until late and free buses into town...every Wednesday during semester.
