Yak Magazine

Yak magazine is an awesome on campus magazine written by students, for students.

What you can do:

Yak is run completely by student volunteers and there are plenty of ways to get involved. Each year an editorial team is selected by the U and the team then source contributors for columns or features. If you have photography or design skills you could also lend a hand to the team or assist with handing copies of the mag out to students each month around the campus.

Yak is hiring!

 

What you get out of it:

If you are a writer, the chance to get published is an amazing thing to put on your CV as is any photography or design work. The Yak team are a great bunch of people so you could make some new friends and become part of a successful student initiative.

 

How you get involved:

Email yakmagazine@newcastle.edu.au with a few copies of your work and the Yak team will get back to you. If you would like to help by handing out copies of Yak, just drop them an email and they would love to have your help.

 

Yak is hiring!

Yak is currently seeking a Deputy Editor: columns. This is your chance gain some great work experience before you graduate. Be responsible for sourcing and coordinating content and contributors for the awesome columns featured in Yak.

Yak is an exciting initiative created by UoN Services, which is run completely by students.

Selection criteria:

Yak is seeking a volunteer to take on the role of Deputy Editor: columns to help source and coordinate content and contributors for the columns featured in Yak. Our ideal candidate could cover the following:

•                Strong time management and organisational skills.

•                Be an innovative thinker who can take this project to the next level.

•                Demonstrate clear written and verbal communication skills.
